WHAT IS UVAMUN?
The Universiteit van Amsterdam Model United Nations (UvAMUN), by SV. Machiavelli, is a multi-day simulation exercise of the United Nations’ conferences. During this yearly event, delegates are assigned a member state and a UN committee, where they debate from their respective state’s foreign policy points of view. By the end of the conference, through diplomatic rhetoric and nationalist strategies, delegates must reach a compromise. Each committee then presents a resolution tackling a range of issues pertaining to its specific topic, which is submitted to a final vote in the General Assembly.
UvAMUN provides an exceptional opportunity for students from all around the world to connect, learn, debate, and improve a multitude of skills, from leadership to teamwork and public speaking.
